Set beneath centuries-old baobab trees on KasaPomboo's clifftop grounds in Shimoni, the Family Cottage is our most spacious retreat — a private two-bedroom home with its own veranda, dining terrace and garden, opening toward the pool and the Indian Ocean beyond, with Wasini Island on the horizon. It's the room families and small groups come back for.

Inside, a hand-carved Swahili four-poster bed sits under a wood-beamed ceiling, dressed in a soft mosquito net and cooled by air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The ensuite bathroom keeps the same coastal character — a rain shower screened by a traditional coral breeze-block wall that lets in light and sea air. Step outside and the cottage opens onto a private veranda with a carved daybed for lazy afternoons, and a separate dining terrace where breakfast — or a home-cooked family dinner — tastes better with the garden and ocean in view.
