What time do boats leave?
For the Marine Park excursion, we leave at 7.30am. For Sunset cruises, the boats leave at 3pm. The other excursions are dependent on the weather.
What are the best months to visit?
The best months to visit Shimoni / Wasini Island are July to October and January to February, when the weather is dry and the ocean is calm.
When can I see dolphins and turtles?
Dolphins can be spotted anytime from our restaurant, especially during the cooler mid morning hours. For guaranteed sighting, a dolphin sighting safari is encouraged.
What should I bring?
Pack light tropical clothing, water-ready gear, reef-safe sun protection, and physical cash for your trip to Wasini Island and Shimoni.
- Clothing and Footwear: Swimwear for snorkeling, breathable daytime outfits, modest cover-ups for the local village, a dry change of clothes, and water shoes or sandals.
- Sun Protection: Reef-safe high-SPF sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses to handle the strong coastal glare.
- Essentials and Gear: A beach towel, a waterproof bag for your phone and valuables, and seasickness pills for the dhow boat ride.
